SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Nancy Edgar has been appointed Vice President of Human Resources for Methodist Healthcare, San Antonio. She transferred from the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) Gulf Coast Division with headquarters in Houston, where she served as Vice President of Human Resources for the past 5 years. She has 24 years of human resources experience in the health care industry.

Edgar earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Rowan University in New Jersey and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from The University of Houston – Clear Lake. She achieved and maintains the Society for Human Resources Management certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Nancy resides in the north central area of San Antonio with her husband, Bob, and their 13-year-old son, Cody. Her 20-year-old son, Tim is a junior at the University of Texas in Austin.

Methodist Healthcare is San Antonio’s largest and most preferred health care provider with facilities including seven acute care hospitals: Methodist Children’s Hospital of South Texas*, Methodist Hospital, Methodist Heart Hospital*, Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital,* Northeast Methodist Hospital,* Metropolitan Methodist Hospital* and Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Hospital--Northwest. Construction on the new Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and the Methodist Boerne Medical Center in Boerne, Texas is due to begin in early 2006.
