SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Legacy of Life has presented Methodist Hospital with a transplant flag to be flown each day during April. The only such transplant flag to be awarded in Texas, the flag recognizes the partnership of Legacy of Life Tissue Foundation in recognition of their partnership with the hospital that is a source of the majority of their donors. In turn, Legacy of Life is the largest provider of life-saving skin needed by the children who are treated at the burn center at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Galveston. The presentation ceremony included comments by Cindy Burress, a donor family member; Jessica Melott for Texas Organ Sharing Alliance; and Carlos Moreno, MD, Executive Director, Legacy of Life Foundation. The flag was accepted on behalf of Methodist Hospital by Marc Strode, Vice President of Transplant Services and Methodist Cancer Center |
