Methodist Healthcare Gives Truckload of Supplies For Hospitals and Clinics In Nuevo León

Government officials representing the Desarrollo Institucional de la Familia from Coahuila, Mexico, formally accepted a gift of medical supplies from Methodist Healthcare, San Antonio today. The Mayor of Vallecillo, Nuevo León, the Honorable Arnulfo de León Villareal, had petitioned the health system for medical supplies for distribution to hospitals and clinics that are in need. The petition was delivered by Gerardo Escamilla the President of the Club Nuevo León, based in San Antonio.

Ralph Foster, II, Director of International Services for Methodist Healthcare, estimated the value of the gift at more than $50,000 including 5 hospital beds, 12 pallets of medical supplies and six pallets of containers for safe disposal of used sharps needles.

“It is our mission,” said Foster, “as part of our on-going outreach effort, to work with our colleagues and neighbors in México in assuring that citizens can have access to health care they need.”
