Friday, October 22, 2004 Methodist Healthcare Gives DIF Coahuila Load of Medical Supplies For Flood-Ravaged Area FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Marilyn K. Potts, APR, Public Relations/Marketing Specialist - (210) 575-0170 This morning, medical supplies and hospital beds were loaded on a truck bound for community clinics and hospitals across the Mexican state of Coahuila. Earlier this year, following devastating floods in that area, Methodist Healthcare leaders met with representatives of the DIF Coahuila to discuss how Methodist Healthcare could best assist the citizens in recovery efforts. Today, government officials representing the Desarrollo Institucional de la Familia from Coahuila, Mexico, formally received the gift of 15 pallets of medical supplies and 5 hospital beds from Ralph Foster, II, Director of International Services for Methodist Healthcare. “When we met with people from DIF Coahuila after their devastating spring floods, we asked how best Methodist Healthcare could help in their recovery efforts. We are pleased to be able to assist in a way that is meaningful to the health and welfare of Coahuila citizens. This flood relief effort is a natural development relating directly to the mission of Methodist Healthcare, and our parent, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, ‘Serving Humanity to Honor God,’” said Foster. |
