Methodist Healthcare Expands Management Structure

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – With the announcement of a series of promotions, Methodist Healthcare has reconfigured its management structure in line with the organization’s growing and increasingly complex operations in the South Texas Medical Center. At the same time, noted President and CEO John E. Hornbeak, Sr., “System-wide demands on Methodist Healthcare leaders have increased and must be addressed. Fortunately, we have line managers ready to assume additional responsibilities and this will permit us to address both needs.”

These changes will enable Methodist Healthcare Chief Nursing Executive Jana Stonestreet to focus on system-wide nursing issues

Polly Davenport, RN, has been named Chief Nursing Officer of Methodist Hospital and Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital. Davenport has 22 years’ nursing experience, all with Methodist Healthcare.

The role of Sue Ann Fuschak, RN, has been expanded to encompass responsibilities as Chief Nursing Officer for the Methodist Heart Hospital and Neuroscience services at Methodist Hospital. She continues to be responsible for vascular and cardiothoracic services at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital. With 27 years in health care, the majority in management, Fuschak has been with Methodist Healthcare for 18 years.

Methodist Healthcare Nursing Leadership Expansion

Patricia Burns, MT (ASCP), MA, a 20-year Methodist Healthcare employee, is now a Vice President with expanded responsibilities over Medical Laboratories added to oversight of Respiratory Therapy and Physical Therapy at the Methodist Healthcare hospitals in the Medical Center. Burns has 24 years’ experience in health care.
