NORTHEAST METHODIST HOSPITAL INCREASES COUNTY’S CRITICAL CARE SERVICES WITH NEW EXPANDED INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

A new 30-bed intensive care unit opens December 2 at Northeast Methodist Hospital, helping to fill a need for additional critical care services in Bexar County. The unit is the first of two phases in a $30 million addition to the hospital that also will include a new cardiac catheterization lab and a parking garage. Every bed in the unit will be either an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed or and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) bed, giving the hospital greater flexibility in the delivery of critical care services. Located in the City of Live Oak at Interstate 35 and Judson Road, Northeast Methodist Hospital serves a diverse community that includes residents of Schertz, Selma and New Braunfels.

With advance notice, Ashley S. Hixon, FACHE, chief operating officer is available for media interviews and tours of the new intensive care unit.
