Methodist Heart Hospital presents "Women and Heart Disease: The Heart of the Matter"

METHODIST HEART HOSPITAL PRESENTS SEMINAR TO HELP WOMEN TAKE CONTROL OF THEIR HEARTS ON FEBRUARY 7

Methodist Heart Hospital will combine the power of a humorous and inspirational speaker with the latest information on heart disease prevention at “Women and Heart Disease: The Heart of the Matter,” a public seminar Saturday, February 7. The event, which includes brunch, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bright Shawl, 819 Augusta. Keynote speaker Dianne Moran, RN. LCCE, ICD, takes a humorous, yet powerful, look at the prevention of heart disease in women. From inspirational stories to motivational tips, she helps women take control of their own hearts. "As their mothers and grandmothers before them, women are constantly taking care of the needs of everyone else and putting their own health matters on the back burner," said Moran. "As we mature, it is extremely important for us to be well-informed so that we consciously choose to take care of ourselves and achieve wellness for a lifetime."

Other topics for the day include relaxation techniques and the latest treatments for incontinence. To register, phone the Methodist Healthcare HealthLine at 210-575-0355. The fee for the seminar, which includes brunch, is $15 per person and may be made by credit card or check when registering. Space is limited so pre-registration is recommended. With advance notice, we can arrange for interviews with Moran and seating for media who wish to cover the event.

If you are interested in doing a story, please phone Shirley Wills at 822-2378 or 860-5289 (cell) or JoAnn King, 575-0171 or 917-7916 (pager). For media assistance during the weekend, please phone Methodist Hospital, 575-4000, and ask for the public relations representative on call.
